Mixed Reality: The next frontier in design & collaboration

VRやARのようなイマーシブテクノロジーは、空間コンピューティングの新時代を可能にし、私たちはもはや2Dスクリーンに縛られることなく、手を使って3Dジオメトリを作成し、相互作用することができます。これによって、あらゆるスケールの仮想モデルで一緒に作業することができ、その中に飛び込んでリアルタイムで探索したり調整したりすることができるのです。このセッションでは、VR、AR、PC、タブレット、携帯電話から、建物、インテリア、都市計画を一緒にスケッチすることを容易にする、リアルタイムのコラボレーション空間デザインツール、Arkioについてお話しします。Arkioを使って、CADやBIMモデルの上に様々なデザインを素早くスケッチする方法をご紹介します。また、作成したデザインを他の3Dツールに読み戻す方法もご紹介します。複合現実感（Mixed Reality）を使えば、現実世界とバーチャル・モデルを重ね合わせ、作業の状況を視覚化することができます。さらに、現実世界を修正して新しい設計オプションを探ったり、スケールモデルを扱うのと同じような手触りとインタラクティブな感覚でモデルを共同レビューしたりすることもできます。Arkioチームによるライブ・ミックスド・リアリティ・プレゼンテーションをぜひご視聴ください。 Immersive technologies like VR and AR enable a new era of spatial computing where we are no longer bound to 2d screens and can create and interact with our 3D geometry using our hands. This allows us to work together on virtual models from any scale that you can jump inside to explore and adjust in real-time. In this session I will talk about Arkio, a real-time collaborative spatial design tool that makes it easier to sketch buildings, interiors and urban plans together from VR, AR, PC’s, tablets and phones. We will show how Arkio can be used to quickly sketch out various design options on top of CAD and BIM models. And how your designs can be loaded back to other 3D tools. Using Mixed Reality, you can overlay the real world with virtual models to visualize your work in context. You can even modify the real world to explore new design options and collaboratively review models that feel as tactile and interactive as working with scale models.
